Grenada: Rainforest Hike & Swim

This Yachting Land Adventure is for nature lovers who enjoy peace and tranquility. Leaving the St. George’s pier, you will drive along the Carenage which is Grenada’s locked harbour.  Then through the town of St. George over the old Fort Road for a photo stop before continuing to Morne Gazo, an undisturbed rainforest covering a conical hill rising to 1140 feet above sea level.  It is covered in fairly intact tropical semi-deciduous rainforest and it is the only area of this type of forest remaining in the country.  Upon reaching the summit you get a panoramic view of Point Salines in the south of the island across to Grand Etang forest hills and down towards La Sagesse. From Morne Gazo the drive will go along the Westerhall Main road via the sugar belt and past a quaint little Sugar Factory on the way to the famous Grand Anse Beach. You will be welcomed with a beverage and may relax up to one hour on the beach. Changing facilities are available for those wishing to swim in the clear waters of the large sandy beach before returning to the ship.
