SEADREAM YACHT CLUB NAMES RICHARD JONES

Richard Jones, long-time Club and Activities Director for SeaDream Yacht Club, has been named to the new post of Business Development Director, Asia. SeaDream President Bob Lepisto, who announced the appointment, said “Richard has been a key player in our success right from the beginning in 2001. He knows our company and our twin SeaDream yachts intimately. This has given him an unmatched sales-oriented skill set.” Richard Jones was born in Wales but has called Thailand his home when not at sea since 1990 when he taught English at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok. He joined Britain’s Cunard Line in 1994 and became a Cruise Director for that company, sailing on Sea Goddess I and II in Asia, Australia, Africa, Alaska, the Caribbean, the Gulf of Mexico and the Mediterranean. When SeaDream Yacht Club was formed in 2001 Jones continued with the re-named, redesigned and restyled, mega-yacht cruisers SeaDream I and SeaDream II as onboard Club and Activities Director. “SeaDream introduced an entirely new concept of small yachting-style voyages. The emphasis was on an elegant, unstructured seagoing experience” he recalls. “It was a casual, yachting lifestyle and I loved it then and I always will,” he says. During his service aboard the SeaDream, rakish twins, Jones was in charge of water sports, hiking, mountain biking, the yacht’s spa and gym fitness programs and all onboard activities, plus shore excursion sales and onboard future voyage sales, where President Lepisto said he excelled. “Richard has returned to his adoptive home in Thailand where he lives with his wife Radoslava. From there he will pursue his new and exciting career with SeaDream Yacht Club,” Lepisto added. “I have spent most of my professional life aboard the SeaDream vessels and aboard their previous incarnations. To bring this incredible yachting experience to an almost totally new sales area is an honor---a dream come true,” he says.
