SEADREAM YACHT CLUB CELEBRATES ISLAND-HOPPING AT ITS BEST

February 9th, 2015 by Adrienne d'Annunzio

MIAMI, (Feb. 4, 2015) – SeaDream Yacht Club’s 112-guest twin-mega yachts have spent the winter season calling on the small ports and boutique harbors of the Caribbean’s most beautiful islands. Now, as much of North America is still experiencing cold temperatures and snow, limited availability for a yachting escape is still available on Caribbean sailings. SeaDream I and SeaDream II will travel the islands through April 18 before making the crossing for their summer Mediterranean home.

“The 2015 season has taken our guests to more ports in the Caribbean than ever before.” shares President Bob Lepisto.  “Having both yachts has allowed us to offer unique sailings in the region, and limited space is still available on remaining March and April sailings.” Caribbean highlights include:

  • Terre-de-Haut, Îles des Saintes: Part of the Îles des Saintes group of Islands, Terre-de-Haut offers guests one of the most picturesque locales in the world. They will also enjoy views of the sister island, Îlet à Cabrit, the main island of Guadeloupe and the volcanic La Soufrière mountain, which reaches a height of 4,810 feet.
  • Charlestown, Nevis: A smaller, less commercial neighbor to St. Kitts, Nevis is a SeaDream favorite with dramatic views of the potentially active volcanic Nevis Peak. Whether exploring the island through one of the Land Adventures or relaxing on the beach, guests can experience the best of both worlds at Nevis.
  • Gustavia, St. Barts: A treasured destination in the Caribbean, Gustavia is a small island in the French West Indies with incredible beaches, resorts, restaurants and activities for both day and night. Guests can discover the island through the various SeaDream adventures or simply relax and watch the incredible yachts arriving and departing from the SeaDream yacht.
  • Tobago Cays: A cluster of five uninhabited islands, the Tobago Cays are home to lagoons full of green turtles, coral reefs, colorful fish and crystal clear waters. A film location of “Pirates of the Caribbean,” the Tobago Cays are an awe-inspiring island destination ideal for both scuba diving and relaxing on the beach.
  • Union Island, the Grenadines: Nicknamed the ‘Tahiti of the West Indies’ due to its volcanic silhouette, Union Island is the southernmost island of the Grenadines. Among the many restaurants and bars, Happy Island, a man-made island featuring a bar, sits in the middle of Clifton Harbor and is an absolute must-see for guests. Guests will also marvel at Mount Taboi, which at 999 feet above sea level is the highest peak on Union Island. Another key feature of the Union Island region is the Tobago Cays National Marine Park. The Tobago Cays are a group of small uninhabited islands surrounded by reefs, where SeaDream offers snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming.

2014/2015 CARIBBEAN SEASON SHORESIDE CASUALS

August 26th, 2014 by Adrienne d'Annunzio

SEADREAM YACHT CLUB HIGHLIGHTS SHORE SIDE CASUALS

FOR 2015 CARIBBEAN SEASON

MIAMI, Aug. 26, 2014 – SeaDream Yacht Club announces crew-led excursions for the fall and winter 2014/2015 season in the Caribbean’s most beautiful islands. Known as “shore side casuals” among past guests, the veteran crew onboard the 112-guest twin mega-yachts leads complimentary shore tours to their favorite spots in the Caribbean islands. The 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio of SeaDream and casual elegance onboard SeaDream I and SeaDream II affords flexibility to explore where large ships and formal tours seldom venture.

“The intimate size and casually elegant service onboard SeaDream gives guests a true yachting experience in the Caribbean,” shares Bob Lepisto, president of SeaDream Yacht Club. “That experience is equally delivered shore side as our the crew shares their favorite activities in the islands through one-of-a-kind shore excursions.”

With 10 mountain bikes onboard each mega-yacht, guests can bike to the secluded beaches including Flamenco Beach in Culebra, the intimate coves in Esperanza and Shoal Bay in Anguilla. Nature preserves like the Turtle Sanctuary in Bequia and watching the dolphins at Soper’s Hole are led by crew. For the most ambitious, a tour circumnavigating the island of Nevis or mountain biking to the bottom of Saba are popular ways to work off a delicious lunch. Guests on SeaDream this season can enjoy crew-led hikes on many of the smaller islands in the Caribbean.

One of the many highlights of shore side casuals includes an incredible hike on the tiny island of Culebrita.  Part of a wildlife refuge and located approximately one mile east of the island of Culebra, this tiny island is a nature lover’s paradise.  Led by a knowledgeable crewmember, guests will hike to the only remaining Spanish-era structure in the Culebra archipelago, which is also the only permanent structure on the island.  After taking in the views, guests will head to Playa Tortuga (Turtle Beach), which is named for the many sea turtles that use the beach for breeding grounds and surrounding waters for grazing.

SeaDream Yacht Club offers a myriad of crew-led, complementary shore excursions in numerous destinations giving guests many opportunities to explore their surroundings.  A walk through Old San Juan to the El Morro Fortress offers guests the chance to explore the region’s rich history, while a circumnavigation bike ride on the tiny island paradise of Nevis is one of many ways for guests to enjoy the unspoiled serenity of natural Caribbean settings.

With an emphasis on relaxed luxury, guests can take advantage of the SeaDream Spa, with the highest therapist-to-guest ratio at sea.  Both SeaDream I and SeaDream II are also equipped with wave runners, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and many other watersports activities, all of which can be launched directly from the yachts’ Marina. While passengers sailing with other lines fight the crowds in larger ports, guests sailing with SeaDream Yacht Club will enjoy an experience like none other, visiting ports that only they can access.

Fully inclusive yachting fares begin at $3,999 based on double occupancy.  For inquiries, contact a travel professional or SeaDream Yacht Club at 1-800-707-4911 or visit www.seadream.com.

Twin Luxury Mega-Yachts Enjoy Exclusive Caribbean Access –

June 30th, 2014 by Adrienne d'Annunzio

SEADREAM YACHT CLUB CARIBBEAN HIGHLIGHTS

– Twin Luxury Mega-Yachts Enjoy Exclusive Port Access

MIAMI, June 30, 2014 – SeaDream Yacht Club will spend the fall and winter 2014/2015 season sailing to some of the Caribbean’s most beautiful islands, visiting ports so small that only their 112-guest twin mega-yachts, SeaDream I and SeaDream II can enter. In addition to the intimate atmosphere, award-winning dining and 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio, guests will enjoy unique access to some of the most beautiful locales the world has to offer.

“Sailing on our mega-yachts allows guest to explore a side of the Caribbean less traveled,” shares President Bob Lepisto.  “The intimate size of our vessels allows us to dock at ports that other lines cannot, and we’re excited to have SeaDream I and SeaDream II both in the islands this winter offering that kind of exclusive access to our guests.”

With an emphasis on relaxed luxury, guests can take advantage of the SeaDream Spa, with the highest therapist-to-guest ratio at sea.  Both SeaDream I and SeaDream II are also equipped with wave runners, glass-bottom kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and many other watersports activities, all of which can be launched directly from the yachts’ Marina. While passengers sailing with other lines fight the crowds in larger ports, guests sailing with SeaDream Yacht Club will enjoy an experience like none other, visiting ports that only they can access.

Caribbean highlights include:

  • Anegada, British Virgin Islands: In contrast to the other British Virgin Islands, Anegada is a low coral atoll only 11 miles long, and at its highest point is only 28 feet above sea level. The trees on this tiny paradise are more than double the height of the island itself, and navigating by smaller vessels is the only way to get there. Guests will enjoy a day at Cow Wreck Beach, miles of stunning, secluded sandy beach and incredible snorkeling.
  • Dominica (The Nature Isle): SeaDream can either dock alongside the unique wooden pier or stay at anchor in Prince Rupert Bay to offer water activities from the marina. A must-do SeaDream Land Adventure is a trip down Indian River aboard wooden rowboats (oarsman provided) where guests will enjoy a beautifully peaceful float through a “tunnel of flora and fauna.”
  • Terre-de-Haut, Iles des Saintes: Part of the Iles des Saintes group of Islands, Terre-de-Haut offers guests one of the most picturesque locales in the world. They will also enjoy views of the sister island, Ilet a Cabrit, the main island of Guadeloupe and the volcanic La Soufriere mountain, which reaches a height of 4,810 feet.
  • Norman Island: Located at the southern tip of the British Virgin Islands, Norman Island is an uninhabited, privately owned tropical paradise of a mere 600 acres. A large harbor known as “The Bight” offers guests one of the most protected anchorages in the area. Guests will enjoy great hiking opportunities as well as snorkeling and scuba diving.
Guests will also marvel at Mount Taboi, which at 999 feet above sea level and the highest peak on Union Island. Another key feature of the Union Island region is the Tobago Cays National Marine Park. The Tobago Cays are a group of small uninhabited islands surrounded by reefs, where SeaDream offers snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming.

Fully inclusive yachting fares begin at $3,999 based on double occupancy.  For inquiries, contact a travel professional or SeaDream Yacht Club at 1-800-707-4911 or visit www.seadream.com.

SEADREAM REVEALS DETAILS ON 2014 EXPEDITION TO PAPUA NEW GUINEA

June 6th, 2013 by Adrienne d'Annunzio

SEADREAM YACHT CLUB REVEALS DETAILS ON 2014 EXPEDITION

TO PAPUA NEW GUINEA

MIAMI, June 6, 2013 – Few areas in the world are as exotic and stunning as Papua New Guinea. The land’s vibrant culture is still thriving and its natural beauty makes the territory a true untouched tropical paradise. Embarking from Cairns, Queensland (Australia) Feb. 1, 2014, SeaDream II of the award-winning SeaDream Yacht Club, will set sail on an exclusive voyage led by a team of expedition experts. Visiting a virtually inaccessible part of the world, guests will travel far off traditional cruising routes and venture into areas rarely visited by outsiders.

“It is simply exhilarating to arrive on a secluded beach by Zodiac boat from SeaDream II and be warmly greeted by a civilization that has remained the same for thousands of years,” shares Pamela Conover, CEO of SeaDream Yacht Club. “Visiting this unspoiled region with our collection of experts promises an unforgettable and rewarding experience.”

Sailing from Australia’s northwest coastal city of Cairns on Feb. 1 and arriving in Bali (Benoa) on Feb. 15, 2014, ports of call and remote harbors include Alotau, Milne Bay; Kitava, Trobriand Islands; Tami Island; Sepik River and Watam Village; Jayapura; Banda Neira; Moluccas; Larantuka; and Komodo Island.

Calling the 112-guest mega-yacht SeaDream II home, guests will be transported by a fleet of nimble, go-anywhere Zodiacs, landing directly on the beaches of these coastal villages to begin exploration. An added bonus will be professional wildlife photographer Sue Flood onboard, documenting the expedition and sharing tips for taking the perfect shot.

Highlights and shore excursion options include:

  • Introduction to Papua New Guinea culture in Alotau in the Milne Bay Province, meeting charming locals and touring the coast. Travelers will have the option to venture into the jungle to revisit a key World War II site. For those interested in natural history, guides will lead guests on hikes and bird watching tours from the beach.
  • Exploring the Trobriand Islands, one of the most culturally intact destinations in Papua New Guinea. Guests landing ashore will experience colorful and powerful performances of young warriors and local maidens dancing directly on the beach before touring the gardens and thatched roof homes of the villagers. The day will conclude with a beachside barbecue in this unspoiled paradise.
  • Discovering the tiny islands of Tami, comprised of uplifted coral atolls less than a kilometer in length. Locals will greet guests with indigenous dances and tours of their villages, observing traditions dating back thousands of years.
  • Visiting the mighty Sepik River, the longest in Papua New Guinea, which is home to the villages of Watam and Kopar along its delta. Villagers will display local customs and dances, allowing a direct look back in time to a culture that measures its existence in thousands of years.

Fully inclusive yachting fares begin at $9,999, based on double occupancy. The SeaDream II will be sailing a series of 17 voyages in Asia starting Oct. 2013 through April 2014. Itineraries include Myanmar, Thailand, India, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Northern Australia and Malaysia.  For inquiries, contact a travel professional or SeaDream Yacht Club at 1-800-707-4911 or visit www.seadream.com.

About SeaDream:

Since the company’s founding in 2001, innovative SeaDream Yacht Club has brought a refreshing change to the world of ultra-luxury holidays at sea – with the intention of being completely different from any and every other cruise product.

The expression ‘Yacht Club’ is not only sentiment about size; it is a statement about lifestyle aboard the small, ultra-deluxe mega-yachts. Chic and stylish, SeaDream I and II are the ultimate hybrid of deluxe private yacht and luxury boutique spa. The elegant informality of the yachts sits comfortably with state-of-the art facilities, discreet, personal service and world class cuisine. SeaDream is the only cruise operator to be a member of the Thai Spa Association

Yachting is about enjoying an unstructured lifestyle – dropping anchor offshore rather than tie up alongside, staying in port until well after midnight and taking a voyage to locations where large traditional cruise ships cannot sail. The 2013 Berlitz Guide to Cruising & Cruise Ships, announced that the 112-guest mega yachts SeaDream I and SeaDream II have again achieved the top two ratings in the ‘Boutique Ships’ category (50 – 250 passengers).
