Port Name Description
Trapani is a city on the west coast of Sicily in Italy and was founded by Elymians. SeaDream docks in the center of town and allows incredible access for strolling into town or meeting the motor coach for the scheduled land adventures. The city is still an important for fishing and is the main gateway to the nearby Egadi Islands. This Carthaginian and later Roman city is an exciting gateway to Sicily's historic, gastronomic and natural attractions, offering access to beautiful medieval towns as well as Greek archaeological sites. We highly recommend that you participate on one of our interesting land adventures (please click on the land adventures tab for more information) and not miss the amazing sites located about 30 minutes by road from Trapani including Erici, Segesta, Marsala and more.
The Costa Concordia tragedy has effected everyone in so many ways! As a result, new restrictions have been imposed especially with regard to protected regions and national parks. The unique Maddalena Strait as well as several areas along the Costa Smeralda are now restricted. Commercial vessels are no longer allowed to anchor in this protected region. Depending on the local conditions and the availability of the port, SeaDream yachts are approved to dock in the Porto Cervo Marina or to anchor at Porto Rotondo.
Bonifacio is one of our favorite arrivals! As we approach the captain generally navigates along the limestone cliffs giving guests a sea view of incredible Bonifacio as well as the famous Aragon steps leading to the water’s edge. Shortly after the pilot will embark and the captain will turn the yacht around and back in this very impressive fjord like marina. This could be one of our highest rated arrivals as the guests always find it both impressive and awe inspiring. Guests will enjoy strolling the marina as well as exploring the upper town. To make it easy, SeaDream has arranged a land adventure that will give you the highlights from both land and sea. Other options include golf at the incredibly scenic Sperone course, Kayaking, a boat adventure to the neighboring island of Lavezzi or a hike or bike ride with the crew and officers.
One of the largest and busiest ports in the Mediterranean, Civitavecchia is the gateway to Rome. Rome's incredible history spans over 2,500 years. Rome has been awarded on of the most-visited cities in the world. Its historic center is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Monuments and museums such as the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum are amongst the world's 50 most visited destinations. With its unique size SeaDream yachts are generally the first vessel in line at Civitavecchia. On some days, nine ships of various sizes can be seen in this busy port of call. It has come to our attention that some local taxi drivers at the airport may tell you that you can embark earlier than the scheduled 2:00 PM. Please note that this information is false and we kindly ask you to make your arrangements accordingly in order to avoid arriving at the pier prior to 2:00 PM. We thank you for your understanding. Some limo and transfer companies found on the web may not have the proper permits to enter the inner port area. Please double check with your service provider to see if they can actually take you all the way to the yacht. In some cases you may be dropped off at the port entrance and would need to take a shuttle bus with your luggage. Our Destination Specialists “DDP Incentive” have prepared pre and post voyage options for your consideration. Please check http://www.ddpincentive.it/972/Rome For more information. They are also happy to arrange your transfers, hotels and any personalized adventure for you. Please e-mail Francesca@ddpincentive.it Should you wish to call them directly please try; +39 0654 31288.

Capri may very well be the most popular island on the planet? It is a beautiful Italian island in the Tyrrhenian Sea just off the Sorrentine Peninsula, on the south side of the Bay of Naples. Capri town is the island's main population center. The island has two harbors, Marina Piccola and Marina Grande (the main port of the island). The separate village of Anacapri is located high on the hills to the west. From there visitors can continue up to the highest point Mt. Solero. Besides some simply amazing shopping boutiques, the island has so much to offer including the ever popular Grotta Azzura, Villa Jovis, Giardini di Augusto, Certosa di San Giacomo, Villa San Michele di Axel Munthe and the uniquely shaped Faraglioni rocks. SeaDream has put together most of the sights into one adventure called “Discovering the Island of Love” Kindly check the Land Adventures tab for more information. There’s also some great hikes available on the island, check with the activities team on board for more information.
Amalfi is a picturesque town in the province of Salerno, in the Campania region of Italy. With its incredible views, it is the main town that makes up the very famous and UNESCO awarded Amalfi coast (Costiera Amalfitana). Amalfi sports some impressive medieval architecture including; its cathedral of Sant'Andrea (St. Andrew), the church tower, the convent of the Cappuccini, founded by the Amalfitan Cardinal Pietro Capuano. They richly represent the artistic movement prevailing in Southern Italy. From Amalfi, we have created two exciting land adventures for you. One to Scenic Ravello and the other to Fascinating Pompeii. You may also choose to play from the yacht’s marina (Permission and conditions pending) or go on a very scenic hike with one of the officers.
Lipar, Sicily is the largest of the Aeolian group of seven islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the northern coast of Sicily. Everyone should check out the fortified castello as well as the Aeolian Archaeological Museum. The island was for centuries the world centre for pumice production, and although the mining has left scars on the hillsides, it has also deposited the finest white pumice dust on the sea bed. The water off Spiaggia Bianca (White Beach) is as clear and as turquoise as in the Bahamas and Caribbean. There’s also black sand beaches on the island as well. SeaDream has arranged a Pizza Demonstration as a Land Adventure option as well as the Island Overview. Water sports in the crystal waters is also a great activity option.
SeaDream yachts anchor in the bay of Giardini Naxos and offer fantastic views of recently awarded UNESCO Natural Site of Mt. Etna (2013) as well as Taormina perched on the cliffside. Shuttle bus service has been arranged to transport guests from Giardini Naxos to the entrance gate of Taormina town. For the SeaDream active guests, office led hikes and bike rides could also transport you to Taormina town or continue up to Castelmola which provides amazing views of the surrounding areas. Perhaps the “must do” adventure here would be to ascent Mt. Etna with your fellow SeaDreamers. Kindly check the Land Adventure tab for the specifics. Other options include an incredible and authentic feast at the Godfather Villa. This “SeaDream Excusive” Land Adventure requires a high minimum to operate but it’s worth every penny! As we are anchored and if conditions allow, we will offer water sports both in the morning and in the afternoon. Multo Bene!
Valletta, The Fortress City, is Malta's capital city: a living, working city, the administrative and commercial heart of the Islands. Valletta is named after its founder, the respected Grand Master of the Order of St. John, Jean Parisot de la Valette. The magnificent fortress city grew on the arid rock of Mount Sceberras peninsula, which rises steeply from two deep harbours, Marsamxett and Grand Harbour. Ottoman forces numbering 40,000 laid siege to the island from May to September, 1565, without success. The heavily outnumbered force of 700 knights and around 8000 Maltese regular troops took refuge in the fortified town on the Grand Harbour. Started in 1566, the city of Valletta was completed, with its impressive bastions, forts and cathedral, in the astonishingly short time of 15 years. The city is busy by day, yet retains a timeless atmosphere. The grid of narrow streets boasts some of Europe's finest art works, churches and palaces. Walking around Valletta you'll come across an intriguing historical site around every corner: votive statues, niches, fountains and coats of arms high up on parapets. Narrow side streets are full of tiny quaint shops and cafes, while Valletta's main streets are lined with larger international branded shops for fashion, music, jewellery and much more.

Amalfi

Fascinating Pompei, with a "Whisper"

SeaDream is pleased to advice you that in order to enhance your visit to this incredible site, your local guide will speak to you directly through the use of an audio head set, referred to as a "whisper". It will allow you to listen to the wonderful detailed commentary of our excellent guides without straining to hear your guide over other visitors and noises. We hope you will take advantage of this technology and join us on this unforgettable visit. From the SeaDream quay in Amalfi, travel along the panoramic coastline and peninsula roads to the remarkably well preserved ruins of Pompeii. Originally settled by indigenous people before the 8th century BC, and later ruled by Etruscans, Greeks, and Samnites, Pompeii became a thriving commercial center under Roman rule. It was a city full of shops, markets and town houses, with paved streets, wide sidewalks, a stadium, two theaters, temples and baths. Then, shortly after noon on August 24 in 79AD, live cinder and ash from Mount Vesuvius covered the entire city. The community of 30,000 people was effectively embalmed. The material thrown out by the volcano was lighter than lava and enabled the city to be covered, with architectural detail, furnishings, household articles, and even foodstuffs and artwork preserved intact. Walk through the streets rutted by chariot tracks, past the ancient forum, the homes of the wealthy, and the shops of the common man. Caught in the moment of death, view body casts of the eruption's victims seemingly come alive in their struggle for breath; their desire to protect loved ones and their doomed attempts to escape. Notes: Please wear comfortable waking shoes; you will spend about two hours exploring Pompeii! Kindly note that traffic on the coastline is never predictable and road jams may occur, expected travel time to Pompeii, approximately 75-90 minutes. Scenic Ravello

Enjoy a panoramic drive climbing up from the harbor in Amalfi to Ravello, one of the most famous and popular locations on the Amalfi coast. Ravello has long attracted writers, artists and celebrities, among them Greta Garbo, Gore Vidal (current resident), Richard Wagner and D.H. Lawrence, who was inspired to write Lady Chatterley's Lover here. The winding route along the famed Amalfi Drive brings you to Ravello's main square, where you set eyes on the Duomo whose linear Romanesque facade is graced with a valuable bronze door made in 1179 by Barissano da Trani. To the right stands the 13th- century bell tower. You'll visit Villa Rufolo, a spectacular complex formed by the main palazzo, built in the second half of the 13th century, and various buildings in Arabian-Sicilian style on a wide terrace facing the gulf. Having entered the smaller 14th-century tower, continue along a small avenue flanked by cypresses and reach the Moorish courtyard, decorated with friezes and arabesques. Passing the knights room, the picturesque belvedere opens up, a luxurious garden with pines, cypresses and exotic plants. After exploring the villa, enjoy some free time to browse and shop among the friendly inhabitants of Ravello before returning to the pier in Amalfi. Notes: The drive to Ravello is filled with twists and turns, and is not for the fainthearted. The White City by Train & Boat

This fun, varied and interesting land adventure is an annual favorite among our guests. It is an excellent opportunity to not only get to know your way around for independent explorations later in the day but your knowledge and experienced guide will provide you with a historic insight and context to let you appreciate this beautiful town to its fullest. Begin your visit with a mini-tram ride which will take you up to the oldest part of Bonifacio to provide you with a quick overview of this charming town, passing the Bosco quarter with the St. Francis convent and the strange, but fascinating cemetery dedicated to the mariners with wonderful mausoleums displaying a jumble of architectural styles. On clear day you may also enjoy a panoramic view on Corsica's closest neighbor the Italian island, Sardinia. Then pass the church St Dominique, a rare example of Corsican gothic architecture, built in 1270, most probably by the Templars. Following the orientation by mini-tram, continue your visit of Bonifacio on foot through tiny, narrow streets bordered with high granite houses. Pass the church of St. Marie Majeure, with its mixture of Romanesque and Baroque styles dated from 14th century. Continue through the heart of the historical part of town to the Two Emperors street where Napoleon Bonaparte and Charles V spend a few days, the Place des Armes, the Jardins des Vestiges and then to the old market where there is a viewpoint over the 230 ft. cliffs on top of which Bonifacio has been built! Return to the mini-train for the journey from the Citadel back to the port, where a local boat stands ready to show you the grottos at the base of the white cliffs. Catch a glimpse of the clearness of the water and, weather condition permitting, enter the magnificent Grotto Sdragonatu the largest of the three caves, which resembles the shape of Corsica. Inside you discover the beautiful colors of amethyst, indigo and gold, the clear water and the rock walls with stalactites and arches. Continue your visit, passing St Antoine and St Barthelemy Caves, the staircase of the King of Aragon carved in the limestone cliffs. Looking south you may even have the opportunity to see Corsica's closest neighbor the Italian island Sardinia, located about 14 kms/9 miles, in the distance. After this boat ride of about 45 minutes, return to the pier and your SeaDream yacht.

Costa Smeralda Golf at Pevero Golf Club

Pevero Golf Club: an extraordinary position for an equally extraordinary golf course. Everything is special starting from the design by Robert Trent Jones, who, at the beginning of the Seventies (in 1978, Pevero Golf Club hosted the renowned Italian Open), implemented a very exclusive course scattered with terrible hazards created by nature itself more than by man and with a strong wind often blowing across it. Before, the whole area between Cala di Volpe and Golfo del Pevero was completely covered by the typical Mediterranean bushes, by rocks and natural ponds; it would have been a shame if he had destroyed this beauty. So, he have just removed some areas where the vegetation was too thick. The Pevero is considered one of the most beautiful courses in the world, is second to none thanks to the spectacular foreshortenings taken from the magnificent Costa Smeralda, stretching from Porto Rotondo to Porto Cervo. The view from the club house over the gulf of Pevero and the bay of Cala di Volpe are unforgettable. http://www.golfclubpevero.net/eng/

Lipari, Sicily

Lipari Island Overview

The Aeolian Islands are a volcanic archipelago in the Tyrrhenian Sea north of Sicily. They are a popular destination in the summer, and attract many visitors annually. Xlendi Bay, Gozo Island

Gozo's Six of The Best

This adventure will show us the highlights of this little-known island. Our first visit today is at "Ggantija Temples", built around 3600 BC and one of the most prized archaeological finds from Maltese pre-history. After some time here, we proceed to the capital of Gozo, "Victoria", which is spread beneath the Citadel, the walled castle dominating the island. Walk within the city walls and view the imposing Cathedral, rejoin our coach for a visit to the "Basilica of Ta' Pinu", a centre of pilgrimage. The origins of Ta' Pinu date back to 1883, when a peasant woman heard the voice of the Blessed Virgin talking to her in an old chapel, and in following years, the site became a holy shrine. It was then decided to build a larger and more magnificent church here in honor of the Blessed Virgin. We then proceed to one of the most impressive natural spectacles of Gozo, the "Dwejra Seascapes"; the Fungus Rock and the Azure Window. The monumental limestone archway was created by thousands of years of sea erosion, and is now popular with photographers and scuba divers. Take time to capture these unique seascapes with your camera. We then cross over to the East coast to "Calypso's Cave" for sweeping views of "Ramla l-Hamra", the "Red Beach'. On the return to the yacht we stop for a final photo at the belvedere perched on the edge of "Qala" for panoramic views of the Blue Lagoon in Comino, which was a site location for the movies "Troy" and "Count of Montecristo".
