Long a secret backpacker's destination, Pulau Langkawi, largest member of the 99-island Langkawi Archipelago is the doorway to Malaysia's most spectacular jungle wilderness. Fairies once gathered in the ponds below Telaga Tujuh (Seven Wells) Waterfall, just 45-minutes from the port. According to local lore, the ponds' curative powers spring from this magic. Among the island's other natural wonders in the region, 2,890-ft/880-m Gunung Raya is the tallest natural formation. Another tale recalls that it is the petrified remains of Mat Raya, a fearsome giant who once terrorized the land.
Pulau Pangkor, just off the central Malaysian coast was probably first settled when refugees fled in the path of powerful armies that swept along the peninsula. Later, with expanding European spice trade, pirates discovered hidden Pangkor coves, but modern 'settlers' gather to enjoy sun and sand at places like Pantai Puteri Dewi, Teluk Belanga, and Pasir Bogak. There are also quiet coves at Tortoise Bay, Teluk Nipah and Teluk Chempedak. The main island town is known as Pangkor Village, but beaches and plush resorts are the main attractions.
Lee Kuan Yew, first and longest reigning Prime Minister of Singapore, stepped down in 1990. Known as 'father of Singapore,' Mr. Lee's guidance unquestionably created an economic marvel and model safe society out of a chaotic post-war, post-colonial state. The rules are tough, but clear. Jaywalkers are fined on the spot. Drop litter – and you pay (smokers beware!). Explore the city-state's impressive modernity and tradition in its architecture. I.M. Pei's striking Gateway and Moshe Safdie's Marin Bay Sands point the way to the future, but don't miss the handsome Old Parliament House.
Ko Lanta Yai is popular with tourists seeking a holiday away from the parties. It's popular with a more mature crowd than nearby Ko Phi Phi: more walking on the beach and watching the sunset than drinking and dancing. Ko Lanta is a little less well-known than Ko Phi Phi, which has become more commercialized and corporate, but it is hardly undiscovered: the several beaches on the west coast of Ko Lanta Yai are each strung with a line of resorts and bungalows, although the farther down the island you venture, the less this is true. And even when the island is at its fullest, there will be a quiet place for you to relax - the beaches are never full.

Lanta Yai Island (Ko Lanta Yai)

Diving Thailand's Best Site

Visit one of the most beautiful diving sites of Andaman Sea - Hin Daeng & Hin Muang. Arguably the best in Thailand, these two pinnacles decorated with different types of hard and soft coral, are located a good distance from land and are surrounded by deep water. Manta rays and whalesharks are frequent visitors. A speedboat will take you to the Dive boat for changing, preparation and dive briefing. Your first dive will be at Hin Daeng, which protrudes out of the water by about three metres and although not very impressive to look at topside, underneath the water the rock is huge. Here the soft coral is tall and lush, schools of jacks sweep past in a shimmering wall of silver. Ascending to the shallows you can see needle fish (long toms) skipping along the surface, and barracudas stalking their prey through the underwater world. After the dive, enjoy your sumptuous lunch on board and take a small break while traveling to the next diving site. Your second dive will be at Hin Muang which is located just a few hundred metres from Hin Daeng and lies completely submerged. The name Hin Muang is derived from the thick purple growth of soft corals that are everywhere you look. The rock itself is approximately 200 metres long and less than 20 metres wide, and is shaped like a loaf of bread with steep, vertical sides and a rounded top. The walls are decorated with large sea fans in colours of red, white and orange. An incredible amount of marine life surrounds and lives upon this rocky pinnacle. Return to your dive boat and cruise back by your speedboat to your ship.

Notes Open water level divers are limited to 18m. However, a single Deep Dive Experience (deeper than 18 metres) is available to a limited number of divers with an extra charge of per person. Ko Rok Discovery by Speedboat

Take a breezy journey by speedboat to Ko Rok where you will discover the amazing underwater world filled with unique fish and coral reefs. These sister islands are separated only by a shallow canal, less than 100 meters wide and 15 meters deep. Ko Rok Nai, with its crescent shaped bay featuring cliffs, white beaches and a stand of banyan trees inland, is extraordinarily magnificent and Ko Rok Nok is uninhabited but occupied by wild animals. The beaches on the two islands are pristine, unspoiled and have powdery white soft sand. The inland area is covered with dense rain forest and a jungle of huge banyan trees, about 6 meters wide. Pangkor Island (Pulau Pangkor)

Lumut Port Pangkor

View the simple life in Lumut as you visit the rubber plantation. Then take a trip to the Turtle Sanctuary and Mangrove Forest. The name Perak simply means silver due to the rich deposits of tin in the Kinta valley. Lumut Port was once an important hub for the shipment of tin ore. Tin is one of the commodities that helped build Malaysia to what it is today. It must be noted that Malaysia was once the largest tin producer in the world before the introduction of Aluminum. You and your fellow SeaDreamers will drive past miles of orderly Oil Palm and Rubber plantations before we stop at the Rubber Estate. Walk into the Rubber estate and observe a demonstration on how to tap a rubber tree. Enjoy a tranquil walk into one of the Mangrove Forests to see the different types of mangrove trees. What appears to be a wasteland plays an important part in Mother Earth’s ecosystem. You may view various species of mangrove such as “Rhizophora Mucronata”, Excoecaria and Xylocarpus, which processed high quality charcoal. A Mangrove Forest acts as buffer between the sea and the land. They help stop erosion, acts as a wave breaker, provides some protection against a Tsunami, an important breeding ground for fish and many other animals and a haven for bird enthusiasts. In short, it is a very important part of the eco system. The timber of the mangrove wood is also used to make export quality charcoal. You will then proceed to the Turtle Sanctuary. Observe these wonders of the sea at this sanctuary. The beaches of Malaysia have been renowned as one of the few places in the world where the sea turtles come to lay their eggs. Among the turtles that frequent our beaches are the Leather Back, Green Turtle, Hawksbill and the Olive Ridley species. Studies have shown that these turtles travel across continents but make an annual pilgrimage to the same beach where they were born to lay their eggs. At this sanctuary turtle eggs are collected, hatched and later released into the sea to ensure that this endangered species continue to thrive and not driven into extinction. After the sanctuary visit, you will board your coach and head back to the pier and your SeaDream pier.

One of the finest, largest and best preserved of the Bagan temples. Built in 1091 by Kyanzittha, the temple is said to represent the endless wisdom of the Buddha. The central square has sides of 53 metres (175 feet) and rises in terraces above the ground. The Ananda suffered considerable damage in a strong earthquake and in 1979, a reconstruction project took place. SEADREAM makes an incredible photo stop for you to capture images of the entire Bagan panorama. After your photo stop to take in the stunning panorama of the Bagan temple site, lunch awaits at the Bagan Viewing Tower. After lunch, proceed to the Aureum Palace Hotel for check-in and approximately one hour of free time. Your afternoon will include a guided visit to a lacquer facility. In Myanmar, an adult Thit-si tree produces resin. To acquire the material, notches are sliced at the base of the trunk, on which one fixes small bamboo bowls. The sap of the lacquer tree has a very strong adhesive quality and a splendid brilliance. It adheres to many surfaces; bamboo, wood, metal and leather. It resists insects too. Your journey continues to visit a local village for a glimpse into their everyday life. Next visit the Damayangyi Temple, one of the four most significant monuments of Bagan. The massive structure is similar in architecture to the Ananda Temple. Damayangyi Temple was built by King Narathu (1167-70), who was also known as Kalagya Min, the 'king killed by Indians'. The temple is located 1 kilometer (.62 miles) southeast of the city walls towards Minnanthu. To conclude the day, you’ll enjoy a short ride by local horse & cart to Sunset Temple for sunset! After a long and exciting day of viewing these amazing sites, return to your hotel and relax. Special Arrangement: We have arranged a special Myanmar Longyi Demonstration in your Hotel Lobby before dinner. Your guide will explain “How to wear Myanmar Longyi“ which is a sheet of cloth that is worn around the waist extending down to the feet and is held in place by folding the fabric over without tying a knot. SEADREAM guests will be provided a Myanmar Longyi as a complementary gift and you may keep the Longyi and wear it to the special Myanmar dinner at the hotel. After dinner you’ll overnight at the hotel. Day 02: Bagan Yangon (B) Enjoy your included breakfast at the hotel and later transfer to the Nuang U airport for your morning flight back to Yangon. Subject to the scheduled flight time, there may be time in Yangon to visit the famous Scott Market, boasting the largest selection of handicrafts under one roof. The Myanmar Overland Adventure ends with a transfer to Bo Aung Kyaw Port, where SEADREAM II awaits.

Notes For this program, regularly scheduled air flights are used. As this excursion involves approximately three hours of walking each day, it is recommended that guests wear flat, comfortable shoes. This excursion is not recommended for those guests with walking difficulties. Shoes have to be removed when entering religious sites. Restrooms at tourist sites are of local standard.
