Ports

  • Monte Carlo

The Principality of Monaco is an independent sovereign state composed of four quarters Fontvieille (the newest), Monaco-Ville (the oldest), La Condamine, and Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo is widely known for its casino as well as the Monaco Grand Prix. Monte Carlo is one of Europe's leading tourist destinations as it simply has so much to offer. Some of the sights include the Cathédrale Paroisse, Eglise Sainte Dévôte, Jardin Exotique et Grottes de l'Observatoire, Monaco Top Cars Collection, Musée Océanographique and of course the Palace. SeaDream calls to Monte Carlo for embarkation and on certain voyages as a port of call typically docking along the new pier. There are a few occasions where the yacht may anchor offering tender service to the pier downtown or at Fontvieille. Kindly check the Land Adventures tab to see all of the options including transfers and private arrangements.

  • St. Tropez

St Tropez located on the French Riviera, quite simply may be the most famous resort town in Europe. It is a playground for the fashion models, athletes, movie stars, entertainers and other extremely wealthy summertime guests. Many say that Bridget Bardot had something to do with the towns popularity what are your thoughts? There’s much to offer in this resort town, shopping, nightlife (Byblos hotel’s Les Caves du Roy nightclub) exceptional beach clubs such as Le Club 55 and Nikki Beach at Pampelonne. Nearby you can explore some of the hill towns and visit the award winning rose wineries. You can also visit neighboring Grimaud and Port Grimaud or just a little further out golf at a few highly rated courses. SeaDream anchors just off the break wall and tenders directly to the pier downtown.

  • Calvi, Corsica

Calvi located on the northwest coast of Corsica in the Haute-Corse department of France. Some have speculated that Christopher Columbus came from Calvi, which at the time was part of the Genoese Empire. SeaDream has an option to dock in the heart of town or anchor off the marina to offer marina possibilities. As most of the main sites are just a stone throw away, we have arranged a guided walking land adventure. Other options include the popular Villages of Corsica adventure, Golf, mountain biking or relaxing on the beach.

  • Portovenere (Cinque Terre)

One word – Incredible! Cinque Terre, Portovenere and the three Island of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997. They have been selected for being distinguished examples of the ways in which man has been able to modify and transform the environment without altering the beauty of the original natural landscape. Most of our valued guests will participate in the ever popular “Cinque Terre: Don’t go Home Without It” Land Adventure. Others may enjoy the guided village walk or go hiking on several trails leading down the coast. Most guests will make a purchase of the mazing local pesto and we are fairly certain our Executive Chef will do the same. Be prepared for an incredible dinner alfresco this evening!

  • Portoferraio, Elba

Portoferraio is a beautiful town in the province of Livorno, Tuscany, on the northern coast of Elba Island. SeaDream generally docks just steps away from the main street Via Garibaldi and offers a guided walk of this very historical town called “Walking the Napoleon Trail”. The first site is the Town Hall, proceeding northeast on Via Napoleone, the Misericordia church, in which a mass is said for Napoleon's soul on May fifth every year. The highest point of town is the Piazza Napoleone, from which there are fine views. To the west rises Forte Falcone (79m/261ft), to the east, above the lighthouse, Forte Stella (48m/158ft), both originally built in 1548 and later completed by Napoleon. On the seaward side of the square is the simple Villa dei Molini. This is believed to be Napoleon's official residence, which contains his library. The island offers so much more than just the main city, there’s some incredible wine and several other towns to explore. To help make the most of your visit to the island, we have created the perfect land adventure for you – “Elba Vistas, Villages & Wine”. If neither sparks your interest, you can borrow one of the mountain bikes to explore the island – the recommended route would be to visit Porto Azzuro.

  • Bastia, Corsica

Bastia is the principal port of the French island of Corsica. This commercial town is especially famous for its local wines. Main sights include the Museum of Corsica, the former palace of the Genoese governors, which now accommodates a museum of Corsican ethnography. The fortress with its keep and its 16th century bell tower protects Terra-Nova and offers great views over the old port, Terra Vecchia, the mountain and the coast. Land Adventures can take you for a casual walking exploration to Erbaluga or further out to Nebbio and St. Florent.

  • Porto Santo Stefano

Porto Santo Stefano is a seaport town located in the municipality of Monte Argentario, in the Province of Grosseto, Tuscany. It is one the two major towns that form the township, along with Porto Ercole located on the opposite side of this unique peninsula. It’s a very picturesque marina with sidewalk boutiques, cafes and restaurants. This is a great start for the Land Adventure traveling to Montalcino for the tasting of fantastic Brunello in one of the most famous Italian wine regions. Guests may want to bike ride to Porto Ercole or for the really energetic to the old convent on top of the mountain which has spectacular views of the coast line as well as Giglio and Gianutri. There’s also a great golf course and a fantastic boutique hotel called Il Pelicano where guests can enjoy a nice atmosphere and lunch. As we are anchored guests will also enjoy water sports from the marina platform (Pending local conditions and approvals).

  • Civitavecchia (Rome)

One of the largest and busiest ports in the Mediterranean, Civitavecchia is the gateway to Rome. Rome's incredible history spans over 2,500 years. Rome has been awarded on of the most-visited cities in the world. Its historic center is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Monuments and museums such as the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum are amongst the world's 50 most visited destinations. With its unique size SeaDream yachts are generally the first vessel in line at Civitavecchia. On some days, nine ships of various sizes can be seen in this busy port of call. It has come to our attention that some local taxi drivers at the airport may tell you that you can embark earlier than the scheduled 2:00 PM. Please note that this information is false and we kindly ask you to make your arrangements accordingly in order to avoid arriving at the pier prior to 2:00 PM. We thank you for your understanding. Some limo and transfer companies found on the web may not have the proper permits to enter the inner port area. Please double check with your service provider to see if they can actually take you all the way to the yacht. In some cases you may be dropped off at the port entrance and would need to take a shuttle bus with your luggage. Our Destination Specialists “DDP Incentive” have prepared pre and post voyage options for your consideration. Please check http://www.ddpincentive.it/972/Rome For more information. They are also happy to arrange your transfers, hotels and any personalized adventure for you. • St. Tropez - Just Beyond St. Tropez, The Villages of Grimaud & Port Grimaud

    Description

There is more to explore than the small village of St. Tropez and we would like to suggest that you consider this lovely half-day outing to discover the region beyond this resort town. Only a few short miles away from Saint Tropez, you can experience the contrast of a modern resort development along with the charm of a weathered hilltop village. First, proceed to Port Grimaud harbor, a village with a unique charm designed by the famous architect Francois Spoerry. Looking like a Mediterranean fishing village, it is a modern complex of luxury housing with a fully equipped marina. Barges will carry you along the waterways for a very pleasant passage through this lively village, past the pastel colored houses covered with Roman tiles and all linked by canals, alleys, tiny squares, and bridges. You guessed it - The Venice of France! Your next destination takes you on a pleasant countryside drive to Grimaud village, a "perched" village. After a short uphill walk, explore its quaint and rustic appearance as you stroll towards the center of the village along one of the lanes leading to the remarkable monumental fountain. • St. Tropez - St. Tropez by Foot

    Description

Your guide will await you on the pier to show you around the village of Saint Tropez. The sightseeing discovery starts with a nice walk along the pier, passing by the most famous café “Senequier” arriving to the very tiny bay from where the visitors will enjoy the view. After this first stop, continue to the heart of St Tropez with the square of the Town Hall representing the Republic and the French Revolution from 1789. Then continue to the church of St Tropez named after the martyr “Saint Torpez”. Visit the church and listen to the story of the legend of St Tropez. Stroll through the by-streets and narrow streets, see the small authentic squares where most of them have an elm, which is the symbol of the freedom. After the effort of walking uphill, you will reach the top of the village to enjoy breathtaking views-- It's a great panorama overlooking the village of St Tropez with its red roofs and the deep and strong blue of the Mediterranean Sea. St. Tropez is not only a little harbor but also a village where art has the first place. The 20th Century is represented by the most three important movements of painting: the Fauvism with Matisse and Derain; the Pointillism with his precursor Signac; and the Nabis with Bonnard and Vuillard. At the end of the guided walking discovery, you may choose to casually walk back to the tender pier or remain in the downtown area for some independent investigation.

From there continue on to the Romanesque "Chapelle de Santa Restituta," an important pilgrimage site in Corsica. The road then snakes leisurely through several more villages, such as Zilia and Cassano as you enjoy lovely views along the way. Arriving in Lunghignano, you will stop for a visit of a donkey-pulled olive oil mill and enjoy a sampling of the product. Then, in Montemaggiore, admire the view from the foot of the baroque church of Saint Augustin before exploring its 17th century artistic treasures and impressive organ. Onward enjoy the views from Col de Salvi and Cateri - with its flowered balconies, and San Antonino where you pause for a welcome local snack for you to taste the local bread, cheese, and sausage along with a glass of wine or soft drink. Finally pass the interesting church of Aregno with its multi-color walls and unique sculptures before stopping in Ile Rousse where free time is afforded for browsing. After having explored this charming village return to Calvi and SeaDream.

  • Portoferraio, Elba - Walking The Napoleon Trail

    Description

Enjoy a historically informative hike through the 'centro' section of Portoferraio, Elba's capital and largest city. Continue along the narrow cobblestone path that leads to the town's upper reaches and your next stop, the Napoleon Residence dei Mulini, where the famous French hero lived in exile for nine months. A visit to the emperor's apartments lets you imagine him reading his favorite books in the library, or contemplating his conquests in the small garden. Resume your stroll to the Forte Stella, so named for its star-shaped design, then wind your way down toward the pier, with a brief visit along the way to the Church of Misericordia.
