Ports

  • Civitavecchia (Rome)

One of the largest and busiest ports in the Mediterranean, Civitavecchia is the gateway to Rome. Rome's incredible history spans over 2,500 years. Rome has been awarded on of the most-visited cities in the world. Its historic center is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Monuments and museums such as the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum are amongst the world's 50 most visited destinations. With its unique size SeaDream yachts are generally the first vessel in line at Civitavecchia. On some days, nine ships of various sizes can be seen in this busy port of call. It has come to our attention that some local taxi drivers at the airport may tell you that you can embark earlier than the scheduled 2:00 PM. Please note that this information is false and we kindly ask you to make your arrangements accordingly in order to avoid arriving at the pier prior to 2:00 PM. We thank you for your understanding. Some limo and transfer companies found on the web may not have the proper permits to enter the inner port area. Please double check with your service provider to see if they can actually take you all the way to the yacht. In some cases you may be dropped off at the port entrance and would need to take a shuttle bus with your luggage. Our Destination Specialists “DDP Incentive” have prepared pre and post voyage options for your consideration. Please check http://www.ddpincentive.it/972/Rome For more information. They are also happy to arrange your transfers, hotels and any personalized adventure for you. Please e-mail Francesca@ddpincentive.it Should you wish to call them directly please try; +39 0654 31288.

  • Livorno (Florence)

Not only is Livorno a fantastic hub to visit neighboring Pisa, Lucca and Florence. Livorno itself is a great destination. To start with, SeaDream docks in the city center rather than further down in the commercial port that would require shuttle bus service. SeaDreamers can easily walk into town or even to the train station. Some of our officers may offer a bike ride from the port to either Pisa or Lucca – possibly both for the extremely active guest. SeaDream has arranged some expertly guided land adventures to take you to the Unesco Awarded Sites. See the Land Adventures tab for more information.

  • Portofino

Portofino at one time an Italian fishing village located in the province of Genoa in the Liguria region of the Italian Riviera. It may be the most popular Italian resort town on this famous coast, it’s also the most photographed. Portofino is a picturesque, half-moon shaped seaside village with pastel houses lining the shore of the harbor. Portofino has shops, restaurants, cafes, and luxury hotels including the uber-exclusive Splendido. The shopping here is incredible as are the many art galleries. There are also opportunities for hiking, diving, boating, resort golf, tennis and biking (once you get past the taxi stand) as there are no bikes and cars permitted within the town limits. The town is closely associated with Paraggi Beach, which is a few minutes up the coast. Other nearby villages include Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, Camogli, Chiavari, Lavagna, and Sestri Levante. Highlight Land Adventures include; The Splendido's Italian Cuisine - A Taste of Tradition, The Art of Making Pesto, Hiking to Santa Margherita and more. You may also ask your Club Director to take you on a picturesque stroll to the lighthouse (Faro) or a bike ride to Rapallo along the coast.

  • Monte Carlo

The Principality of Monaco is an independent sovereign state composed of four quarters Fontvieille (the newest), Monaco-Ville (the oldest), La Condamine, and Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo is widely known for its casino as well as the Monaco Grand Prix. Monte Carlo is one of Europe's leading tourist destinations as it simply has so much to offer. Some of the sights include the Cathédrale Paroisse, Eglise Sainte Dévôte, Jardin Exotique et Grottes de l'Observatoire, Monaco Top Cars Collection, Musée Océanographique and of course the Palace. SeaDream calls to Monte Carlo for embarkation and on certain voyages as a port of call typically docking along the new pier. There are a few occasions where the yacht may anchor offering tender service to the pier downtown or at Fontvieille. Kindly check the Land Adventures tab to see all of the options including transfers and private arrangements.

  • St. Tropez

St Tropez located on the French Riviera, quite simply may be the most famous resort town in Europe. It is a playground for the fashion models, athletes, movie stars, entertainers and other extremely wealthy summertime guests. Many say that Bridget Bardot had something to do with the towns popularity what are your thoughts? There’s much to offer in this resort town, shopping, nightlife (Byblos hotel’s Les Caves du Roy nightclub) exceptional beach clubs such as Le Club 55 and Nikki Beach at Pampelonne. Nearby you can explore some of the hill towns and visit the award winning rose wineries. You can also visit neighboring Grimaud and Port Grimaud or just a little further out golf at a few highly rated courses. SeaDream anchors just off the break wall and tenders directly to the pier downtown.

  • Cassis

Cassis is a small port situated east of Marseille in the administrative department of the Bouches-du-Rhone in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region in southern France. It is a very popular tourist destination and is famous for its steep cliffs (falaises) and the sheltered limestone inlets called calanques. The wines of Cassis are white and rose, and not to be confused with creme de cassis, a specialty of Burgundy which takes its name from blackcurrants (cassis), not the village here. SeaDream anchors in the bay and offer a land adventure to the impressive Aix en Provence. Other options are taking a local boat to the calanques, hiking along the coast, visiting some of the local vineyards, water sports, mountain biking or simply relaxing in a balinese bed on the yacht.

  • Collioure (Port Vendres)

Collioure is surely the most picturesque coastal resort on the Mediterranean coast of South-West France. With the backdrop of the Pyrenees mountains tumbling into the sea, the old harbour, the impressive castle, wonderful old churches, beach-side restaurants, narrow old streets, bijou boutiques, art trails and three beaches. We dock in the adjacent fishing harbour of Port Vendres, which also has nice restaurants and bars along the dockside. Collioure was first settled by the Phoenicians and Greeks as a trading port and, since then, has been occupied by Romans, Barbarians, Arabs, Spaniards (at least 4 times) and finally after the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659, the French. The Knights Templars, built Collioure's impressive castle (Chateau-Royal) in the 12th Century and this was later used as a residence for the Kings of Mallorca. Collioure still makes a healthy living from its salted anchovies that are exported all over France.

  • Barcelona

Barcelona, a Unesco Awarded City is the second largest in Spain. It was the 12th-most-visited city in the world and 4th most visited in Europe after London, Paris and Rome. Especially remarkable is the work of architect Antoni Gaudi¬, which can be seen throughout the city. His best known work is the immense but still unfinished church of the Sagrada Fami¬lia, which has been under construction since 1882, and is still financed by private donations. Completion is planned for 2026. SeaDream almost always docks downtown at the World Trade Center and is steps away from the famous boulevard of La Rambla. SeaDream has several land adventure options for you, whether this is a port of call or an embarkation point, kindly check the land adventures tab for all of the details including transfers and private options.

Yachting Land Adventures & Activities

  • Barcelona - Gaudi's Barcelona - Architectural Revolution

    Description

The symbol of Barcelona must surely be the incredible Sagrada Familia basilica designed by the local revolutionary architect, Antoni Gaudi. Our "Barcelona Highlights" tour gives only a photo-stop view of some of Gaudi's works. This tour will visit the interiors of both the Sagrada Familia and the Guell Park, Gaudi's greatest works. Gaudi is probably the most famous modernist architect in the world. Born in 1852, he was an attentive observer of nature and felt attracted to its forms and geometry. Our tour will start with a viewing of two of Gaudi's buildings, the Casa Mila and the Casa Batllo which have both been declared World Heritage sites by UNESCO. We will then pay a visit to Guell Park, the dream of the business man Eusebi Guell and his revolutionary architect, Gaudi. Their plan was to transform a large rocky estate in the north part of the city into a residential area, based on the English model of city-gardens. Despite the wild appearance of the park, everything in it was planned: the access, the market, the main square, the drainage, the reveries, the roads and paths, the staircases, the benches etc. The start of the First World War meant the failure of this project as a real-estate venture. The Sagrada Familia basilica is probably one of the world's most unique structures. We will visit the interior nave. Prepare yourself to be impressed with the sheer scale of this structure. Still uncompleted, work began in 1882 under the direction of Francesco de Paula Villar, who intended to give the work a Neo-Gothic style, in fashion at that time. However, the differences between the architect and the municipality led him to give up the project and was replaced a year later by Gaudi. The temple has 3 facades, one for the Birth which was built in 1891, the second one is the Passion with the Door of Faith and the third one (not yet built) will evoke the Glory of Good. When completed to Gaudi's design, the masterpiece will have 18 towers more than 100 meters high. The group of architects that is now working on the project (which is still a private foundation) dream of finishing the work by 2026, the 100th anniversary of Gaudi's death.

  • Cassis - Aix En Provence

    Description

A short walk from the tender landing stage to the bus parking area (10 minute walk) and then a beautiful drive through bucolic scenery takes you to the charming old town of Aix en Provence. Many villages, but few towns, are as well preserved as this elegant, traditional capital of Provence. She boasts two of France's most creative geniuses among her sons: the impressionist Paul Cezanne and novelist Emile Zola. Stroll with your guide on a walking tour through the narrow cobblestone lanes of the Vieux Aix (old town Aix) sector as you make your way to the celebrated Cours Mirableau Avenue. Flanked with intertwining plane trees, it is the town's nerve center and divides Vieux Aix in two, with the medieval streets to the north and the sophisticated, haughty 18th-century mansions to the south. The Cathedrale Saint Sauveur is another highlight with its remarkable 15th-century triptych by Nicolas Froment and the carved pillars and slender colonnades of the lovely and tranquil Romanesque cloisters. After the guided portion of your tour, free time is afforded to explore the lovely environs of cafes and boutiques before returning to Cassis and the SeaDream quay.

  • St. Tropez - St. Tropez by Foot

    Description

Your guide will await you on the pier to show you around the village of Saint Tropez. The sightseeing discovery starts with a nice walk along the pier, passing by the most famous café “Senequier” arriving to the very tiny bay from where the visitors will enjoy the view. After this first stop, continue to the heart of St Tropez with the square of the Town Hall representing the Republic and the French Revolution from 1789. Then continue to the church of St Tropez named after the martyr “Saint Torpez”. Visit the church and listen to the story of the legend of St Tropez. Stroll through the by-streets and narrow streets, see the small authentic squares where most of them have an elm, which is the symbol of the freedom. After the effort of walking uphill, you will reach the top of the village to enjoy breathtaking views-- It's a great panorama overlooking the village of St Tropez with its red roofs and the deep and strong blue of the Mediterranean Sea. St. Tropez is not only a little harbor but also a village where art has the first place. The 20th Century is represented by the most three important movements of painting: the Fauvism with Matisse and Derain; the Pointillism with his precursor Signac; and the Nabis with Bonnard and Vuillard. • Portofino - Hiking to Santa Margherita

    Description

This picturesque hiking adventure departs from the tender pier passing through town by the trendy boutiques and shops that surround the charming piazzetta and the waterfront. Walk by the church before you reach the hiking path: depending on weather and paths conditions, the first half part of the journey is mostly uphill, walking towards Cappelletta, San Sebastiano and Olmi, to reach then Molini; the path leads the way through the Mediterranean flora, with fancy villas, vineyards and olive groves. Alternatively, you walk towards Paraggi along the breathtaking coastline where the hills and the seaside live harmoniously together, to then hike up towards Acquaviva and Molini, where an old olive oil mill has been renovated housing now a little museum and a tiny cafe with facilities. Vegetation hugs the medieval dwellings and the cliffs drop off to the crystal clear sea making this one of the most fascinating locations of the Riviera. Continue towards S.Anna and Nozarego to finally start the walk down to the main promenade of Santa Margherita Ligure. Santa Margherita's forms, colors, the arrangement of its characteristic houses, its rich villas and great hotels all seemingly painted around the bay produces something of a magical reflection. You will pause for a refreshment at a local cafe and some time to browse the shops before boarding your van for the return drive to Portofino or to just extend your stay in Santa Margherita to then make your own way back to your SeaDream yacht.

    Notes

This is a "real" hike and while the pace is not too brisk, it does require stamina and the ability to walk both uphill and downhill. A limited number of environmental guides are available. A minimum participation is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures and some have limited capacity. • Livorno (Florence) - Renaissance Ramparts of Lucca by Bike

    Description

Today's Yachting Land Adventure begins with a scenic 45 minute drive, via motorcoach, through the Tuscany countryside to an enchanting destination largely bypassed by time and tourists - Lucca. Geraniums bloom from the roofs of medieval tower houses, latticed Gothic windows abound, and Lucca offers her visitors the best preserved Renaissance defense ramparts in Europe. These stone walls surround the village and are up to 40 feet high and more than 2 miles long by about 60 feet wide. Begin with a walking orientation taking in some of the highlights along the cobbled Via Fililungo, little Lucca's version of Rome's Via Veneto. Your guide points out the Romanesque facades and facilitates a stop in San Frediano Church. At Santa Maria Square, bicycles are lined up, awaiting your arrival. Up you go to ride along the ancient city walls, enjoying the panoramic view below and stopping along the way to visit St Martino Cathedral, Giglio Square, Napoleone Square and the house that was the birthplace of Puccini. Some free time is afforded for browsing in the upscale shops, looking for the famed 'olio d'oliva lucchese' of the region or just finding a chair at one of the sleepy cafes and catching a glimpse of Lucca life, before returning to Viareggio and SeaDream. Molto Bene!

    Notes

This fun and historic adventure includes a guided walk of about 45 minutes, a bike ride for approximately 60 minutes as well as some free time for shopping of around 40 minutes. • Collioure (Port Vendres) - Collioure & Wine tasting

    Description

A short drive from Port Vendres harbor, takes you to lovely Collioure, a picturesque village and attractive little fishing harbor. Bathed by the Mediterranean waters against the backdrop of the Alberes Mountains, Collioure invites you to enjoy the benefits of its climate. It is easy to appreciate the atmosphere and admire painters who usually work on the little fishing harbor surrounded by cafes. The village blends in beautifully with the landscape: the famous church tower, the royal chateau, the beach and the mountains, all tinted with the same sepia tones, seemingly burnt by the sun, and the small white typically Mediterranean houses... Indeed, it was the beauty of Collioure that inspired such painters as Matisse, Picasso, Derain, Dyfy, Marquet, to name but a few. After strolling around the waterfront, you will visit the church with a golden sculpted wooded altarpiece dating from XVIII century and the Majorca King's Castle, extended by Pierre IV of Aragon during the 14th century. (Closed on Tuesday). Conclude your visit to this charming village with a stop in one of the local wine cellars for a bit of wine tasting. Thereafter return to Port Vendres or remain in Collioure for lunch on your own. Should you remain in Collioure after the wine tasting, the short transfer back to Port Vendres is NOT included.
