Ceret Art Museum - Hidden Gem
A picturesque village of Ceret is the unlikely home of the Musee d'art Moderne - a museum fast gaining a reputation as one of the best in Europe. This excursion allows the discriminating traveler an opportunity to explore both the world class cultural experience within the walls of the museum and the charming village of Ceret, still largely untouched by tourism. The approximately 40-minute drive takes you from the coast to the foothills of the Vallespir Mountains, passing vineyards and working farms. The museum itself is on two levels and offers works by Dali, Miro, Picasso, Matisse and Chagall among many others. After touring the galleries, a refreshment is offered exclusively to SeaDream guests in a private atrium. As the museum is located in the heart of Ceret village, in and out privileges are easy and the museum can be used as a base to peruse the local shops and architecture. An elegant, cultural and relaxed-pace tour off the beaten track and an opportunity to experience "the real France".
