Stolling, Cooking & Tasting
Our loyal club members have asked for an adventure that can do it all and to discover a country with all of your senses – to see, taste, smell, feel and hear! We have succeeded with this new unique land adventure in Cartagena! Listen to the stories this ancient city has to share walking around and getting a feeling of what it was more than 2.500 years ago and how it has developed. After this fantastic walk gain some more knowledge by being shown how to cook the regional paella. Practice makes perfect… So go ahead and participate before tasting the result of your finished product. Take note of what the professional expert says, since all he does and has ever concentrated on is paella in its diverse forms. Now to please the rest of your senses with a wine tasting that will present excellent wines from nearby regions such as Jumilla and Yecla. Jumilla has had an important wine making tradition for centuries and today is recognized as one of Spain’s most promising wine regions. It has begun to receive international acclaim for some of its wines, which are conquering markets the world over. Yecla is a Spanish Denominación de Origen (D.O.) for wines located around the town of Yecla, in the northernmost corner of the region of Murcia. Findings from excavations have confirmed that grape growing and wine production has been practiced in this area for over two thousand years. After the wine tasting and explanation your guide will accompany you back and those who prefer to stay behind are more than welcome to, just please inform your guide.
