Ancient Samos & Wine Tasting

Visit the fascinating Archaeological Museum of Samos and a local winery with free time to explore the seaside village of Pythagorion.

Departing the port, your first stop is at the Archaeological Museum of Samos, located in the heart of Vathi town, which is regarded as one of the most interesting museums in Greece. There are rare exhibits from the Archaic Period, many pieces of sculpture from the 5th, 6th and 7th centuries B.C., kores and kouroi (more than life-size) sarcophagi, Ionian columns and much more.

After your visit at the museum, continue to visit a local winery where you will be given information about the history of winemaking in Samos. Learn about the different vines and varieties as well as have a tasting of wines together with a Greek snack. Samos produces the most famous sweet wine which are used exclusively by the Catholic Church as communion wine.

Following your visit, you will board the coach for a scenic drive through the verdant island of Samos passing by lovely villages and attractive bays before you reach the charming village of Pythagorion. Here you have an opportunity to explore the village on your own, browsing around the many boutiques, shops, or dine in one of the picturesque cafés. Afterwards join the guide and coach for the return drive back to the yacht at the pier, or remain and return to the yacht independently on your own.
