Port Name Description
The BVI’s barefoot island and home of the painkiller. Population depends on the month – typically 250-300. This is another SeaDream destination where you may be served Champagne and Caviar in the surf followed by an amazing BBQ Luncheon. A hike is always offered to guests to visit the famous Foxy’s Bar at Great Harbour (hopefully the boutique is open) or you can stroll a few meters down the beach to the Soggy Dollar Bar. Snorkel equipment is provided as well as some of our water toys!
Norman Island is located at the southern tip of the British Virgin Islands. It could very well be the very same island reputed to be the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's pirate novel Treasure Island. It is said that the island was named after a pirate who purchased it at some point during the early 18th century. The island is uninhabited and privately owned by Dr Henry Jarecki. Its area is about 600 acres (2.4 km²), and it is about 2.5 miles (4 km) long. A large harbor known as "The Bight" offers one of the most protected anchorages in the area. Guests will enjoy some great hiking opportunities as well as snorkeling and scuba diving. Another popular option may be to check out the Willie T that is generally anchored in the harbor or simply have a beverage at the Pirates Bight Bar.
This marina on Tortola's West End, retains its quaint charm while being a center of activity and voted the best marina in the BVIs. Soper's Hole imparts a great sense of place and physical intimacy and is considered one of the most picturesque marinas in the Caribbean. SeaDream is offering several land adventures including, snorkeling, scuba diving, land rover safari and swimming with the dolphins. For guests wanting some extra activity, ask the Captain or Club Director to set up a bike ride to Road Town along the coastal road. For guests wanting to simply shop or explore the marina, we suggest checking out Pusser’s Landing along with the cute boutiques.
Perhaps our most treasured destination in the Caribbean! This small island belonging to the French West Indies has so much to offer our SeaDream guests. Incredible shopping only steps away from pier. Incredible beaches, resorts, restaurants and activities both day and night. SeaDream has created various land adventures for you to discover the island from sea or land. Ask one of the officers to take you on a hike or bike ride around the island. Another great activity here is to simply relax and watch all of the incredible yachts arriving and departing just off your SeaDream yacht.
Saba is the smallest special municipality of the Netherlands. It consists largely of the potentially active volcano Mount Scenery, which at 887 metres (2,910 ft) is the highest point within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The island has a land area of 13 square kilometres (5.0 sq mi). Its current towns and major settlements are The Bottom (the capital), Windwardside Town, Hell's Gate and St. Johns. As the island is part of the Netherlands, Dutch is the official language. Despite the island's Dutch affiliation, English is the principal language spoken on the island. Saba is home to the Saba University School of Medicine, which was established by American expatriates in coordination with the government of the Netherlands. SeaDream may be the only commercial vessel that calls to this unique island. Scuba Diving is said to be the best in the Caribbean. Guests will be offered an incredible hike as well as a scenic overview of the island.
Two-thirds of St. John Island has been dedicated as a national park and is the most virgin of the U.S. Virgin Islands. It is blessed with many beautiful beaches and bays, fine anchorages and verdant hills. Enjoy the day with snorkeling trip to Trunk Bay with its underwater guided trail, or join our kayaking land adventure. Ask your Club Director for a guided hike to Caneel Bay stopping at beautiful Honeymoon Beach for a quite swim. Rental Cars are available should you want to explore on your own or you could borrow a SeaDream Mountain Bike for independent exploration.
Vieques is part of the United States Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (USCW), but, like the rest of Puerto Rico, retains strong influences from 400 years of Spanish ownership. Its two main towns are Isabel Segunda the administrative center on the northern side of the island, and Esperanza on the southern side. At peak, the population of Vieques is around 10,000. The island's name is a Spanish spelling of an American Indian word (likely Taíno) said to mean "small island". It also has the nickname "Isla Nena", usually translated from the Spanish as "Little Girl Island", alluding to its perception as Puerto Rico's little sister. Today the former navy land is a national wildlife refuge, with numerous beaches that still retain the names given by the navy, including Red Beach, Blue Beach, Green Beach and others. The beaches are commonly listed among the top beaches in the Caribbean for their azure-colored waters and white sands. SeaDreamers can visit the very unique Bio Bay in the evening via an old school bus (the only bus on the island) This adventure is always receiving great reviews. Guests can also stroll the small town or go for a nice bike ride to one of the magnificent beaches.
This tiny island is a NATURE LOVERS PARADISE and part of a wildlife refuge, located just about one mile east of the island of Culebra. Because of its special status, the only permanent structure you'll find on the island is the abandoned lighthouse high on the hill; for the energetic, the trail hike up there is well worth the views over the surrounding area (it is prohibited to enter the lighthouse!). The islands beaches are also nesting grounds for sea turtles so please avoid any nesting areas " marked or unmarked; but do keep your eyes open, you just might spot one of them in the water. When coming ashore, wear your swim suit, bring a towel, water and plenty of sun protection; then enjoy your day on this beautiful unspoiled and natural island, walk along the trails & beaches, snorkel amongst the reefs or swim in the clear blue waters. The local trees along the beach provide some shade but there are no restrooms or changing facilities on the island. Kindly also leave the island unspoiled and free of litter.

Golf at "Mahogany Run"

On most days, a steady wind sweeps through the emerald dales on the north shore of St. Thomas to blow past beautiful vacation homes and over the scenic fairways and greens of the sometimes-infuriating Mahogany Run Golf Course. Major celebrities and several tourists simply love Mahogany Run. The course is a difficult but rewarding 18 holes of golf for anyone carousing through the British and US Virgin Islands. Bill Clinton played here back in January 1997. He left something of personal lament and signed an autograph of a photo of the course's most scenic hole, which is framed and hangs at the door to the pro shop. He wrote "only" got a four on No. 14 -- a bogey. Michael Jordan and several other professional athletes also gritted their teeth at the challenges of Mahogany Run. Actors John Travolta and Sylvester Stallone have played it. All of them came because the course designed by George and Tom Fazio has some incredibly scenery as well as some very interesting and difficult holes. SeaDream guests have the option to take the ferry or private water taxi from Cruz Bay, St. John to Red Hook, St. Thomas where a transfer van will whisk you to the North Shore to play one of the best courses in the Caribbean and some say the world!

Bioluminescent Bay Encounter

Hidden along the Caribbean coast on the Island of Vieques, Puerto Rico is one of the most spectacular bioluminescent bays in the world. Tiny organisms known as dinoflagellates create the mysterious blue-green light. A trip into the bay is a magical and educational experience. Fish flash by in the dark water, the milky way arches overhead, and kicking your legs in the water is like moving them through stardust. This amazing experience is operated via a non-polluting electric boat staffed by a knowledgeable and entertaining captain and crew who explain the delicate balance of this rare ecosystem. As of November 1, 2011, The Department of Natural Resources no longer allows the opportunity for extended swimming in the bio bay. They have also reduced the amount of guests per boat per departure. Do not miss this amazing experience, which is suitable and recommended for all ages.

Notes Although this adventure has been offered in the past, it may not be available on all voyages. Swimming may be allowed and guests may want to plan for it, wear your swimsuit under a cover up; sandals or flip-flops work well for footwear. Access back onto the boat is eased by the availability of a ladder. The trip on the bay operates onboard a US Coast Guard certified pontoon boat equipped with an electric motor. Seating is available on the pontoon boat but there are no changing facilities, showers or restrooms onboard. The trip will operate in case of light to moderate rain. The boat is not covered but rain should not deter you from participating. Local school buses will provide the short transportation to and from the pier. These are not air-conditioned and not overly comfortable as you travel over a dirt road. However, the bus journey is limited to only about 10 minutes each way. With advance notice, persons requiring the assistance of a wheelchair can be accommodated. A minimum number of participants are required to operate this adventure. Participation on this adventure is strictly limited so early reservations are strongly recommended. Bring a towel and a bottle of water. A minimum participation is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures and some have limited capacity. This program is booked onboard only so please make your reservations as soon as possible after boarding to avoid disappointment. Island Information

On most visits to this island, SeaDream is planning an evening stop at this tiny community along Vieques south coast. It is the ideal gateway to explore the amazing bioluminescent bay only a short distance to the east of town. The SeaDream tender will bring you right to the center of this small village. From the pier you can take a walk along the waterfront promenade or visit a handful of little shops. There are also a couple of bars and pleasant restaurants all within walking distance. There will be time for a stroll in this laid-back Caribbean community but do not miss the opportunity to sign up for the visit to the amazing "Bio-Bay!"

Circle St. Barts on Fast N' Fun

This seagoing adventure is one of our favorites and offers a fantastic, fun AND FAST, way to gain a unique perspective of the island of St. Barts. Norman Island

Norman Island, B.V.I.

Welcome to one of the most popular yachting island in the British Virgin Islands! We at SeaDream love this place for the variety of choices it offers our SeaDreamers. First, a bit of history: Norman Island is perhaps most famous for being the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's novel, Treasure Island. However, Norman Island also has a rich documented history of acting as a hiding spot for pirate loot. Documented history for the island dates back to the early 18th century when the crew of a Spanish treasure galleon, called Nuestra Senora de Guadeloupe, buried 55 chests of silver coins after the crew mutinied aboard the ship. Although Lieutenant General of the Leeward Islands, Gilbert Fleming, and later Tortolan residents have discovered much of the treasure' more pirate treasures are rumored to exist to this day on Norman Island. We hope that YOU will find some of it during your visit! Today, Norman Island offers one of the safest and most scenic yachting harbors in the British Virgin Islands. The anchorage, known as "The Bight" offers over 100 yacht moorings and is central to numerous world-famous SCUBA dive and snorkel sites such as The Caves and The Indians. The 600-acre privately owned and uninhabited Norman Island also boasts numerous hiking trails and a breathtaking white sand beach; as well as one of the best Caribbean beach bars - Pirates Bight Restaurant. www.normanislandpirates.com So what's a SeaDreamer to do on Norman Island? We offer a variety of fun and exciting SeaDream land & water-based adventures. That should take care of your morning activities. Upon your return from your morning activity, we suggest that you drop in for your own lunch at the beachfront Pirates Bight Restaurant ashore on Norman Island. The SeaDream tender will take you ashore only a few steps from where the beach meets the bar..... Come ashore prepared for the beach; no formalities required! The casual open-air restaurant with fabulous views over the bay and across to Tortola Island offers an excellent variety of fish and meat dishes; and quite often even fresh lobster; all reasonably priced. Do not forget to treat yourself to the famous Bushwacker, the drink that made the restaurant & bar famous! It tastes like a frozen chocolate shake but it packs quite a punch. For those of you with a sweet tooth, you can order it by the bucket! The recipe is available on request. Spend the afternoon lazing on the beach, swim in the clear waters or browse through the gift shop. For the energetic ones, just behind the restaurant are trails that take you up to the ridge of the island. If you are used to hiking, it should take you about 30-minutes to get to the top. Once atop the highest trails, you can enjoy some of the most beautiful views of the entire BVI's and even can see over to St. John, USVI. Take in incredible vistas over multiple British Virgin Islands and the Sir Francis Drake Channel to the north, east and west. To the south, you can see the wide expanse of the Caribbean Sea. Our suggestion would be to make the hike in the late afternoon to avoid the midday heat. Then, as you return back down to the beach, treat yourself to a refreshing swim and frozen drink at the Pirates Bight bar. Behind the restaurant there is also a sand volleyball court so don't forget to ask the manager of the restaurant" the incredible master- Bushwacker-maker Rupert, for the ball. Should your visit to Norman Island fall on a Thursday through Sunday night " The Pirates Bight Bar features great live music and is likely THE most popular bar in the islands; do not miss to join the fun! The band usually starts at 8:00 PM and lasts until 11:00 PM and later. If the above still leaves you wondering what to do, please consult our onboard Club & Activity Director for some more ideas. If you can't find them onboard, check ashore and look for where they serve those chocolate "shakes."

Snorkeling at Treasure Island

This delightful snorkel trip includes a scenic boat journey between the British Virgin Islands to the famed Caves at Norman Island with a reputed history of piracy and immortalized in Robert Louis Stevenson's famous book: "Treasure Island." Norman Island has a rich documented history of acting as a hiding spot for pirate booty. Documented history for the island dates back to the early 18th century when a Spanish treasure galleon called Nuestra Senora de Guadelope buried 55 chests of silver coins after the crew mutinied aboard the ship. Although much of the treasure has been discovered by Tortolan residents and later by Leiutenant-Genearal of the Leeward Islands, Gilbert Fleming, more pirate treasure is rumored to exist today on Norman Island. The adventure begins with boarding a twin-engine Snorkel Launch for a scenic 35-minute ride across the scenic Sir Francis Drake Channel to two of the B.V.I.'s prime snorkel sites. Your experienced Snorkel Instructor will take you snorkeling at the uninhabited and legendary Caves at Treasure Point (Norman Island) where pirate treasure is said to have been hidden! A second snorkel stop is planned at the pristine surroundings at The Indians before returning back to your SeaDream Yacht.

Port information

Lovers of nature will find their paradise on the island of La Palma, also known as "La Isla Bonita" (the beautiful island). La Palma is wild, rugged and dramatic, made up of steep mountains and clad in dense, sub-tropical vegetation. It is also delightfully untouched by tourism and the small town of Santa Cruz, the capital, is famous for its elaborate wooden Canarian balconies and vibrant facades. One of the most popular sites is the UNESCO Biosphere reserve of Los Tilos, where a vast primeval forest towers above acid green tree ferns, while ribbons of waterfalls cascade hundreds of feet over volcanic cliffs. The island is also home to working banana plantations, volcanic craters and a thriving cottage industry of cigar rolling and pottery making. And try some star gazing...the clear, limped skies led to the International Scientific Community choosing the island as the site for one of the most important Astrophysics Observatories in the Northern hemisphere.
