Yachting Land Adventure

Tubing The Scenic Layou River

Get set to get wet on this fun and exciting adventure into the so-called "Land of 365 Rivers." You'll see why Dominica is known as the Nature Isle of the Caribbean as you drive from Portsmouth to the launch site for today's entertaining tubing trip down the Layou River. On arrival, there is a safety briefing, after which you get your life vest (must be worn), a modified inner tube and paddle before getting into the river. With everyone in the water, your guides will set you loose to begin the exciting journey, sometimes gently and other times quickly, spinning and swirling in the current while taking in the changing exotic scenery. Don't forget to look up! You stop briefly to enjoy a popular Dominican pastime - river bathing - where you swim in the crystal clean waters for a few minutes before continuing down the scenic river until the exit point. Professional guides are only a shout away to ensure your comfort and safety all the way to the end. Back on land again, a refreshment of the local rum punch and fresh fruit is served before returning to the yacht.

Notes: Shoes that can get wet are strongly advised. Wear your bathing suit and a t-shirt/cover-up. If you bring a camera that is not waterproof, you can leave it on the bus or bring a suitable sealing plastic bag but the tubes do not have a storage area and you will need both hands to maneuver the tube. The scenic drive to the river requires 45 minutes to 1 hour and the tubing is well worth the ride! The water conditions of the river will determine the operation of this adventure. Be sure to bring a towel from the yacht. A minimum participation is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures and some have limited capacity. This program is booked onboard only so please make your reservations as soon as possible after boarding to avoid disappointment. All land adventures in the SeaDream Yachting Land Adventures program are subject to change. Final pricing and departures times will be published onboard.
