Sights of Las Palmas

Sights of Las Palmas

This SeaDream Land Adventure includes a delightful combination of the sights and scenery of Las Palmas!

Las Palmas is the largest town of the Canary Islands, with over half a million inhabitants. In the old colonial area of Vegueta, you will enjoy a visit to one of the most popular museums on the island, the Columbus Museum. It was here that Columbus stayed for a few days whilst the rudder of one of his small ships was repaired in 1492. Afterwards, you will head to the Cathedral of Santa Anna, begun in the 15th century and completed over 300 years later. Your journey will continue to the Santa Catalina Hotel, where a refreshment of tea, coffee or juices and biscuits will be offered to you and your fellow SeaDream guests. Take a stroll through the Doramas Garden and the Canary Village within the hotel grounds. Finally drive up to the Bandama Crater. At 650 feet deep, the caldera is a stunning sight. This crater is named after Dutchman Daniel Van Damme who visited Grand Canary in the 16th century. From the edge of this extinct volcano you will take in the sweeping view of the valley and the city of Las Palmas in the distance.
