Portofino at one time an Italian fishing village located in the province of Genoa in the Liguria region of the Italian Riviera. It may be the most popular Italian resort town on this famous coast, it’s also the most photographed. Portofino is a picturesque, half-moon shaped seaside village with pastel houses lining the shore of the harbor. Portofino has shops, restaurants, cafes, and luxury hotels including the uber-exclusive Splendido. The shopping here is incredible as are the many art galleries. There are also opportunities for hiking, diving, boating, resort golf, tennis and biking (once you get past the taxi stand) as there are no bikes and cars permitted within the town limits. The town is closely associated with Paraggi Beach, which is a few minutes up the coast. Other nearby villages include Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, Camogli, Chiavari, Lavagna, and Sestri Levante. Highlight Land Adventures include; The Splendido's Italian Cuisine - A Taste of Tradition, The Art of Making Pesto, Hiking to Santa Margherita and more. You may also ask your Club Director to take you on a picturesque stroll to the lighthouse (Faro) or a bike ride to Rapallo along the coast.
The Principality of Monaco is an independent sovereign state composed of four quarters Fontvieille (the newest), Monaco-Ville (the oldest), La Condamine, and Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo is widely known for its casino as well as the Monaco Grand Prix. Monte Carlo is one of Europe's leading tourist destinations as it simply has so much to offer. Some of the sights include the Cathédrale Paroisse, Eglise Sainte Dévôte, Jardin Exotique et Grottes de l'Observatoire, Monaco Top Cars Collection, Musée Océanographique and of course the Palace. SeaDream calls to Monte Carlo for embarkation and on certain voyages as a port of call typically docking along the new pier. There are a few occasions where the yacht may anchor offering tender service to the pier downtown or at Fontvieille. Kindly check the Land Adventures tab to see all of the options including transfers and private arrangements.
St Tropez located on the French Riviera, quite simply may be the most famous resort town in Europe. It is a playground for the fashion models, athletes, movie stars, entertainers and other extremely wealthy summertime guests. There’s much to offer in this resort town, shopping, nightlife (Byblos hotel’s Les Caves du Roy nightclub) exceptional beach clubs such as Le Club 55 and Nikki Beach at Pampelonne. Nearby you can explore some of the hill towns and visit the award winning rose wineries. SeaDream anchors just off the break wall and tenders directly to the pier downtown.
Sanary-sur-Mer is a Provencal village located in the Var department in the Provences-Alpes-Côtes d'Azur region of France. Most visitors fall in love with the town shortly after they arrive. The harbor has several traditional wooden boats called “pointus” that are used by the fisherman daily. They sell their catch each morning on the harbor front. Market day is always a special treat so plan accordingly. The nearby village of Bandol has some of the oldest vineyards in France. It’s an easy bike ride down the coast from Sanary-sur-Mer. Barcelona, a Unesco Awarded City is the second largest in Spain. It was the 12th-most-visited city in the world and 4th most visited in Europe after London, Paris and Rome. Especially remarkable is the work of architect Antoni Gaudi¬, which can be seen throughout the city. Gaudi's Barcelona - Architectural Revolution

The symbol of Barcelona must surely be the incredible Sagrada Familia basilica designed by the local revolutionary architect, Antoni Gaudi. Our "Barcelona Highlights" tour gives only a photo-stop view of some of Gaudi's works. This tour will visit the interiors of both the Sagrada Familia and the GUell Park, Gaudi's greatest works. Gaudi is probably the most famous modernist architect in the world. Born in 1852, he was an attentive observer of nature and felt attracted to its forms and geometry. Our tour will start with a viewing of two of Gaudi's buildings, the Casa Mila and the Casa Batllo which have both been declared World Heritage sites by UNESCO. We will then pay a visit to GUELL PARK, the dream of the business man Eusebi Guell and his revolutionary architect, Gaudi. Their plan was to transform a large rocky estate in the north part of the city into a residential area, based on the English model of city-gardens. Despite the wild appearance of the park, everything in it was planned: the access, the market, the main square, the drainage, the reveries, the roads and paths, the staircases, the benches etc. The start of the First World War meant the failure of this project as a real-estate venture. The SAGRADA FAMILIA basilica is probably one of the world's most unique structures. We will visit the interior nave. Prepare yourself to be impressed with the sheer scale of this structure. Still uncompleted, work began in 1882 under the direction of Francesc de Paula Villar, who intended to give the work a neogothic style, in fashion at that time. However, the differences between the architect and the municipality led him to give up the project and was replaced a year later by Gaudi. The temple has 3 facades, one for the Birth which was built in 1891, the second one is the Passion with the Door of Faith and the third one (not yet built) will evoke the Glory of Good. When completed to Gaudi's design, the masterpiece will have 18 towers more than 100 meters high. The group of architects that is now working on the project (which is still a private foundation) dream of finishing the work by 2026, the 100th anniversary of Gaudi's death.

The Magnificent Alhambra

Discover the Alhambra - dramatic highlight of historic Granada on this unforgettable land adventure. The city is beautiful in its own right, but nothing in all of Spain compares to the wealth of architectural art to be found in the city's Muslim - Hispano complex - the 14th-century Alhambra. This breathtaking example of Moslem architecture is completely encircled by walls and towers - palaces, military buildings, a fortress and the administrative centers of a bygone era all lie protected within. Explore this remarkable structure on foot and marvel at the detailed mosaics, prism-style cupolas, and stone-cast latticework that speak to a surprising grace and sophistication. The nearby Generalife, surrounded by water gardens, was the residence of Kings in need of refuge, and in direct contrast, the stunning El Vino Gate commissioned by Carlos V is built in the purest Renaissance style of the 16th-century. By special SeaDream arrangement, a typical Spanish tapas meal with wine, bottled water and dessert is provided after your walk at the Ruta del Vileta restaurant at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The restaurant is a favorite of King Juan Carlos I during the skiing holidays of the Spanish Royal Family.

Notes The Alhambra is one of the most visited monuments in Europe! This fact, together with logistical restrictions on access for conservation reasons, means that it is not always easy, or possible, to obtain entrance tickets. This program is booked onboard only so please make your reservations as soon as possible after boarding to avoid disappointment. Once requested, this land adventure is non-refundable and only valid for the day issued! A minimum number of participants is required to operate this land adventure. The journey to Granada requires two hours. But do not be discouraged; the guides are very good and will keep you entertained as well as informed as you cross the Spanish countryside. Once in Granada there will be ample opportunity to walk as the gardens and the palace are explored on foot. The return journey is usually relaxed and quiet helped along by the Spanish wine served during your tapas break. Malaga's Old City - Tour & Tapas

Get to know the old city of Malaga with a knowledgable local guide. Our yacht is docked at a palm-lined pier close to the center of the city. We leave the yacht in a small group of guests and start the walk to the old city of Malaga with our local guide. From Plaza de la Marina we proceed up Calle Larios, exploring the narrow side-streets. Our first stop will be at Plaza de la Merced where we visit Picasso's birthplace. We then pass the roman theater on our way to the Alcazaba. This grand Moorish fortification was built by the Berber ruler Badis Ben Habus in the mid-11th century on a hill in the center of the city, overlooking the port. After our exploration of the citadel we walk down to the typical tapas bar called Bodega "El Pimpi" for refreshment and tapas. We can recommend the sherry. Eze & The Rothschild Museum

This Yachting Land Adventure begins with a drive along the Moyenne Corniche, a broad modern road that takes large sweeping curves into the delightful Mediterranean countryside. You arrive at the amazing village of Eze, a prime example of a hilltop village, clinging like an eagle's nest to a rock spike towering 1401 feet over the sea. Entering the 14th-century double gateway by foot, follow the sentry walk leading into the steep narrow streets, sometimes running beneath the carefully restored houses that are now smart boutiques or artists' studios and enjoy approximately one hour of free time. Then, continue along the road that offers a spectacular contrast of rocky cliffs and the sea. At Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, your stop will be the museum "Ile de France". This superb villa houses a priceless collection that the Baroness Beatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild assembled throughout her life. Inspired by the great Renaissance residences of Venice and Florence, surrounded by seven gardens of different themes, the villa contains an exceptional collection of porcelain, furniture, carpets, tapestries and paintings displayed throughout the apartments of Madame de Ephrussi. Following the 45-minute guided visit through the stunning rooms and exhibits you may take time to stroll the French, Spanish, Florentine and Japanese gardens before returning to SeaDream.

Eze and Monaco

As you depart Monaco harbor, the coach will join the Moyenne Corniche, a broad road taking large sweeping curves along the coastline and high cliffs and providing the only access to the amazing village of Eze, a prime example of a Mediterranean hill village. Eze clings like an eagle's nest to a rock spike towering 1401 feet over the sea. On foot you will enter the 14th century double gateway with crenellations and a sentry walk leading into the steep narrow streets, sometimes running beneath the carefully restored houses which are now smart boutiques or artists' studios. Streets of this town are closed to the traffic and the town can only be explored by foot: Do not miss the magnificent views of the coast from the top. Driving back to Monaco, your coach will park at the foot of the rock of Monaco. From here you will take escalators and elevators which will carry you to the Old City: "The Rock". Up the hill, a guided walking tour through the narrow streets will take you past the Oceanographic Museum, the Cathedral containing the tomb of Princess Grace, & view the exterior of Prince's Palace. After a short time at leisure, your motor coach will drive along a small part of the Grand Prix Motor Race circuit before returning to the SeaDream pier.

Monte Carlo Golf Club

Perched at 900 meters above sea level, just under the fortress peak of Mont Agel (1148 meters), Monte-Carlo Golf Club is in fact located in France rather than in Monte Carlo itself. The relatively steep climb up to the Club from La Turbie, does not deter its rich and famous members from making the journey, especially with a well-laid out course, elegant and comfortable clubhouse and stunning scenery waiting. The views out onto the Mediterranean, along the French and Italian Riviera's and inland to the mighty Alps will brighten up any golf round, no matter how your golf swing is performing. Willie Park Jr's original design has stood the test of time, creating an enjoyable and playable course that includes plenty of elevation changes, rolling fairways and clear to see golfing challenges - awkward blind shots are rare, but inevitably there are one or two. Excellent quality greens are stoutly defended by good bunkering, and the well-groomed fairways usually provide enough room for maneuvering, but do tighten-up on some holes. Within the layout's natural, parkland environment, there are some slopes to climb, but it would be wrong to call this a mountain course. The back-nine arguably contains the best holes, especially as you move into more open terrain at the tumbling par-4 13th. A long and gradual climb back up to the clubhouse starts at the par-4 15th, all the while accompanied by some of the most stunning sea and mountain views you'll enjoy from any golf course.

Notes Appropriate golf dress is required; Men: collared shirt, Bermuda length golf shorts or trousers, socks and closed in shoes. Women: collared or non collared shirts, sleeve or sleeveless, Bermuda length shorts Package includes: 18 holes of golf, Green fees & shared golf cart, Coordination fee, Round trip transfers from the pier. Please advise the Concierge or Club Director if you require any equipment. Rental Clubs and golf balls are extra and may need to be paid direct at the pro shop. $40.00 rental clubs and balls

Porto Ercole

Discover The Villages Of Montalcino & Sant' Antimo and Italys Celebrated Wines, Brunello & Chianti

We can highly recommend this beautiful day into one of Italy's most celebrated regions. Please read on to learn more about this opportunity to see, and taste, Italy beyond the coast as you explore scenic Chianti "Country." A delightful day trip away from the yacht in Porto Ercole takes you into the renowned Chianti wine region, and allows you to explore two of the area's most charming towns. Begin with a scenic countryside drive, traveling through delightful tiny medieval villages. One of the most famous and recognized wines in Italy is the Brunello, which is grown around the sleepy town of Montalcino, your first destination. Founded in the first decades of the 10th century, the town has kept its urban structure since the Middle Ages, the time of its greatest expansion and brilliance. A walking tour takes you along its narrow, winding and steep streets, its 14th-century fortress and impressive ramparts with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. See the Palazzo Comunale on the Piazza del Popolo, dating back to the 13th century, and the Duomo San Salvatore. Montalcino's foremost activity is wine producing, as is evident from the number of shops where you can both sample or buy the excellent local wines. Enjoy a sampling of the celebrated local wine at one of the many local wineries, followed by some free time to browse and have lunch on your own. And, bring some of your friends; food & wine always tastes better in good company. And leave the driving to us. Continue to the valley to visit Sant'Antimo and admire the impressive, ancient Abbey built by Charlemagne early in the 9th century. Legend says he built it as an expression of thanks to God for sparing him and his troops from a plague that was then raging through Italy. Return to SeaDream in Porto Ercole thereafter.

Notes We suggest that you wear comfortable walking shoes for your walk through the two villages and for the wine tasting; it pays to be sure-footed. The scenic journey from Porto Ercole to Montalcino requires approximately 80-minutes; time to rest up for your walks and to learn more about the region from your excellent local guide. Portofino

Hiking to Santa Margherita

This picturesque hiking adventure departs from the tender pier passing through town by the trendy boutiques and shops that surround the charming piazzetta and the waterfront. Walk by the church before you reach the hiking path: depending on weather and paths conditions, the first half part of the journey is mostly uphill, walking towards Cappelletta, San Sebastiano and Olmi, to reach then Molini; the path leads the way through the Mediterranean flora, with fancy villas, vineyards and olive groves. Alternatively, you walk towards Paraggi along the breathtaking coastline where the hills and the seaside live harmoniously together, to then hike up towards Acquaviva and Molini, where an old olive oil mill has been renovated housing now a little museum and a tiny cafe with facilities. Vegetation hugs the medieval dwellings and the cliffs drop off to the crystal clear sea making this one of the most fascinating locations of the Riviera. Continue towards S.Anna and Nozarego to finally start the walk down to the main promenade of Santa Margherita Ligure. Santa Margherita's forms, colors, the arrangement of its characteristic houses, its rich villas and great hotels all seemingly painted around the bay produces something of a magical reflection. You will pause for a refreshment at a local cafe and some time to browse the shops before boarding your van for the return drive to Portofino or to just extend your stay in Santa Margherita to then make your own way back to your SeaDream Yacht.

Notes This is a "real" hike and while the pace is not too brisk, it does require stamina and the ability to walk both uphill and downhill. A limited number of environmental guides are available. Golf de Sainte-Maxime

From its lofty perch, high above the town of Sainte Maxime, this immensely scenic and always testing golf course offers stunning views out across the bay and across to St Tropez. Transforming this hilly and at times difficult terrain into a playable layout was impressively accomplished by the Harradines (Don and Peter), although the accurate shot-maker will certainly fare better here than the wayward big-hitter; from the outset there are several tightish drives to make. The front-nine loop is played down into a valley, where villas flank the course perimeter, but rarely are they in range. Water threatens on only two occasions. At the downhill par-3 7th, an attractive pond dangerously fronts the putting surface. The same pond must be crossed again as you tee-off at the superb short par-4 8th, a hole which then requires an accurate uphill approach shot to a green encircled by small rocky cliffs. The more elevated and fabulously scenic back-nine retains many natural stretches, with wonderful views onto the Mediterranean, and inland to the forested hills and peaks of the Massif des Maures. First timers to the course may think the uniformly circular greens are generally quite flat, but beware, these perfect circles are often wickedly inclined. Between the 10th and 11th holes you'll pass an old cable car that once ferried golfers up to the 11th tee; mandatory buggies now perform that task. Although maintenance could be a tad better in places, Sainte Maxime's spectacular views and challenging layout make this a must play course for visitors to France's incomparable Cote D'Azur.

St. Tropez by Foot

Your guide will await you on the pier to show you around the village of Saint Tropez. The sightseeing discovery starts with a nice walk along the pier, passing by the most famous café “Senequier” arriving to the very tiny bay from where the visitors will enjoy the view. After this first stop, continue to the heart of St Tropez with the square of the Town Hall representing the Republic and the French Revolution from 1789. Then continue to the church of St Tropez named after the martyr “Saint Torpez”. Visit of the church and listen to the explanation of the legend of St Tropez. Stroll through the by-streets and narrow streets, see the small authentic squares where most of them have an elm, which is the symbol of the freedom. After the effort of walking uphill you will reach the top of the village to enjoy breathtaking views. A great panorama overlooking the village of St Tropez with its red roofs and the deep and strong blue of the Mediterranean Sea. St. Tropez is not only a little harbor but also a village where art has the first place. The 20th Century is represented by the most three important movements of painting: the Fauvism with Matisse and Derain, the Pointillism with his precursor Signac and the Nabis with Bonnard and Vuillard. At the end of the guided walking discovery you may choose to casually walk back to the tender pier or remain in the downtown area for some independent investigation.

Parador El Saler – Golf

In the early 60s, Javier Arana , undoubtedly the best designer of golf courses that Spain has ever had, was walkig in the pine forest of El Saler, next to the beach, and with his special intuition thought that this land would make a magnificent golf course. Javiar had the wisdom to respect and maximize the natural landscape, including all the pines and having sand dune separate the pine forest to the beach. The result is already known to all who have visited this golf course with very wide fairways and difficult greens, nearly a hundred bunkers, some exploiting natural dunes, and without any other special difficulty, makes it difficult to fulfill a par 72. Whoever plays in El Saler should know that this is one of the best courses in the world and located in a privileged area of Valencia: Dehesa de El Saler . It was inaugurated on June 3, 1968 and responds to a masterpiece of the architect and designer Javier Arana. El Saler has hosted major national and international tests in the various categories, highlighting the Open of Spain, 1984, 89 and 2001 and the Seve Trophy 2003. http://www.parador.es/elsaler_es/

Ernest Hemingway was so impressed with the La Pepica, he wrote a charming anecdote of it in his works. Enjoy a traditional Seafood Paella and a glass of wine while taking in the views of the beach. After lunch, learn about one of another surprising areas of Valencia, the Albufera Nature Park. It is home to the largest lake in Spain and one of the most important wetland areas in the Iberian Peninsula. Home to rare species of wading birds and a rich variety of wildlife, its waters have been traditionally worked by fishermen and rice growers, supplying ingredients and inspiration for many of the region’s most succulent dishes.

Valencia Exploration

Departing from the pier, enjoy a panoramic drive going through the Avenida del Puerto to the Gran Via and Calle Jativa where you can see the Bullring and Central Station. See the Central Market, an enormous metal, ceramic tile and glass Art Nouveau building built in 1928, with its 1300 stalls of fresh fish, meat and fruits, selling products from all over Spain. Valencia’s present is defined by the City of Arts and Science complex, designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela. The City of Arts and Sciences is a unique complex devoted to science, technology, nature, and art, and is made up of five segments or centers: the Hemisfèric, the Umbracle, the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum, the Oceanográfico and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía. A must stop is made at the Silk Exchange monument, called La Lonja where the old quarter walking discovery will begin. Admire this declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. It is a Valencian Gothic-style civil building, built between 1482 and 1548, and one of the principal tourist attractions in the city. This building illustrates the power and wealth of one of the great Mediterranean mercantile cities. Enjoy the charms of the streets of the Valencia, squares (such as the "round square") and hidden corners. Walk around the main streets of the commercial city centre where you will have time to shop and taste the “horchata” while enjoying Santa Catalina Square.
